Made in Denmark about 2010 for a customer who has now downsized, the solid wenge top is made of 3 slabs of wenge sawn to make three pairs of booked matched boards either side of the centerline of is square top. Furthermore, the edges of the table show the ends of each board folded under to give a bookmatched end grain apron. For those who know their wood and their craftsmanship, this table makes the most of the only naturally dark brown wood in the world as well as its two toned grain pattern. The craftsmanship is further confirmed by the complete flatness of the table top without any variation whatsoever, a testament to the workmanship and the stability of the solid wood. The table measure 160cm corner to corner and 170cm middle to middle, having slightly curved edges. The table is being pictured with a set of 8 conference chairs designed by Arne Vodder and made during the 1960s. These chairs are available in a separate listing. The black leather on the chairs is in good condition. The joints have been checked and reglued as necessary.
