This set of eight rosewood dining chairs by Niels Otto Moller with original blue wool woven cord seats. The round label dates these chairs as made between 1958 and 1969. The blue woven cord is a wool and polyester blend made in Germany on special order for Niels Otto Moller during the 1960s. The polyester gives the cord strength whilst the wood is soft to the touch and makes wiping away spillages easy without leaving a stain. The solid rosewood speaks for itself in the pictures. Black veining evidences the type of rosewood as dalbergia nigra and that the wood is from old growth. This of course means that from 1991, this wood was protected under CITES. Any buyer of this set outside the UK must accept 3-6 weeks for issuance of an export permit, meaning once you receive the chairs with the export permit, everything is legal and above board. Any future sale by buyer will be permissible with the export permit issued.
