Proveniens: Kai Hyllén, manager at Electrolux. Original receipt included. Kai Hyllén started out as a bookkeeper at Electrolux in 1923 and worked his way up to become manager of the company, whilst at the same time the Swedish designer John Gustaf Axel Berg was employed as manager of sales. G.A. Berg eventually left Electrolux to go into the furniture business, and partnered up with Harald Westerberg in 1929. A few years later in 1933 Berg opened his own store in Stockholm and in the years to follow he designed pieces who would come to define “Swedish Modern” internationally.
